Tiers & Access
Billing in development
You can create and configure tiers today. Live payment processing through Stripe is gated behind a billing flag while it's being finalized — you'll be notified when checkout is fully enabled for your app.
Tiers define what each member can access and how much they pay. Open them at Admin → Tiers. Each tier has two sides: a Manage view (features and limits) and a Tier Pricing view (prices and checkout).
Feature access
In a tier's Manage settings, toggle which parts of your app the tier includes:
| Feature | Controls |
|---|---|
| AI Chat | Access to the agent, skills, memories, and documents |
| Community | Master switch for community. When on, you can fine-tune the sub-features below. |
| Classroom | Access to courses and lessons |
| Shared Agents | Reserved for an upcoming capability that will let members create their own shareable agents. Not available to members yet — today everyone uses your one agent. |
Community sub-toggles
With Community enabled, control each piece independently:
- Chat — direct messages (1:1 and group)
- Board — the community message board
- Events — the events calendar
- Members — the members directory
This lets you, say, give a lower tier the message board but reserve DMs for higher tiers.
Usage limits
Tiers can cap usage to keep AI costs predictable:
| Limit | Description |
|---|---|
| Monthly messages / tokens | How much AI usage the tier includes per month |
| Storage | Upload allowance for the member's personal documents |
| Daily spend cap | A safety ceiling on AI cost per day |
| Guest message limits | For public/shared agents: daily and monthly caps per guest |
When a member exceeds a limit, metered actions (like sending more AI messages) are temporarily locked until the limit resets.
Trials, customers & clients
- Trial tiers can automatically downgrade to a chosen tier when the trial ends
- Tiers are organized into customer and client groups — drag a tier between sections to categorize it
Pricing
Open Tier Pricing for a tier to set prices (Stripe-connected):
| Option | Use |
|---|---|
| Weekly | Short-cycle or trial-style billing |
| Monthly | Standard recurring price |
| Annual | Discounted yearly commitment |
| One-time | A single payment (e.g., a course or cohort) |
You can also set early-bird checkout URLs for launch promotions.
Yearly sweet spot
A yearly discount equivalent to "2 months free" (about 16–17% off the monthly rate) is a proven formula — it improves cash flow and reduces churn.
How tier access layers with skills and content
Tier feature toggles are the first gate (does this member get AI Chat at all?). On top of that, individual items can be gated to specific tiers:
| Item | Where it's gated |
|---|---|
| Skills & Game Plans | Per-skill Tier Access in the Skills editor (empty = all tiers) |
| Courses & lessons | Allowed tiers on each course |
| Events | Allowed tiers on each event |
| Group chats | Tier-linked groups grant automatic membership |
So a member with AI Chat enabled still only sees the skills their tier is allowed to use.
One agent, tiered skills
Because there's a single agent, you create premium value by gating skills rather than whole agents. Give your "Advanced Game Plan" skill to your top tier only — everyone shares the same agent, but the capabilities differ.
Pricing strategies
Two tiers (Good / Better)
Basic — $29/mo Pro — $79/mo
✅ AI Chat ✅ AI Chat + premium skills
✅ Community ✅ Community
❌ Classroom ✅ ClassroomThree tiers (Good / Better / Best)
Starter — $19/mo Growth — $49/mo Pro — $99/mo
✅ AI Chat (core) ✅ AI Chat ✅ AI Chat (all skills)
❌ Community ✅ Community ✅ Community
❌ Classroom ❌ Classroom ✅ ClassroomKeep it to three
More than three tiers tends to confuse buyers. Lead with a clear "most popular" middle option.
Editing tiers
- Go to Admin → Tiers
- Open the tier and edit features, limits, or pricing
- Save — feature/limit changes apply to subscribers immediately
Price changes
Changing a price affects new subscribers. Existing members keep their rate until they cancel and resubscribe.
Member onboarding
Each tier can have its own guided onboarding checklist for new members. That's configured on the Onboarding tab — see Member Onboarding.
Common questions
Can I delete a tier? Not while members are subscribed to it. Move those members to another tier first.
How do refunds work? Handle refunds in your Stripe dashboard; subscription status syncs automatically.
Where do I gate a specific skill? In the Skills editor, not here — tier feature toggles turn AI Chat on/off, while per-skill Tier Access controls individual specialists.
