AI Agent & Chat
Beta Feature
AI chat is in active development. Some capabilities, integrations, and artifact generation may not work as expected. We're continuously improving reliability and adding features.
AI chat is the flagship of ToolChat — but the model is intentionally simple: one agent that orchestrates everything. Members talk to a single agent that knows your methodology, searches your knowledge base, builds pages, tracks projects, and switches into specialist skills on demand.
The one-agent model
| Old way | ToolChat today |
|---|---|
| Members pick between many bots | Members talk to one agent |
| Each agent has its own KB | One knowledge base, searched automatically |
| Capabilities split across agents | Capabilities are skills the one agent activates |
| More to learn and click | Less to learn — the agent orchestrates |
How it works
Member message
→ router picks intent + tools
→ knowledge base searched automatically
→ active skill (if any) shapes the response
→ agent replies, with artifacts / page builds / tasks as neededAI capabilities
- Skills & Game Plans — specialist modes the agent activates by
/, by button, or on its own → Skills - Artifacts — generate documents, code, HTML, and React components
- Page Builder — build and publish landing pages from chat → Page Builder
- Projects & Tasks — work gets tracked in the Activity panel
- Knowledge base — automatic retrieval from your uploaded sources
- Memory — persistent business context across conversations
- File uploads — images, PDFs, and audio (auto-transcribed)
- Integrations — connect third-party tools the agent can use
Supported models
| Provider | Models |
|---|---|
| OpenAI | GPT-4o, GPT-4o-mini |
| Anthropic | Claude 4.6 Sonnet, Claude 3.5 Sonnet, and more |
| xAI | Grok models |
| AWS Bedrock | Various foundation models |
You set a default model on the agent, and any individual skill can override it — run a fast model for everyday chat and a stronger one for complex Game Plans.
For owners
You configure one agent in the Agent Builder — a visual "brain canvas" with four parts:
| Part | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Identity | Name, avatar, voice, system prompt, model, temperature, conversation starters |
| Knowledge | Your single knowledge base |
| Skills | Skills & Game Plans the agent can activate |
| Tools | Integrations and actions |
Instead of separate "AI Writer" and "Persona Writer" tools, an AI Builder co-pilot writes and refines your agent for you in chat — and can draft skills from your knowledge base. Every system-prompt save is versioned, with one-click restore from History.
For members

File uploads
| Type | How it works |
|---|---|
| Images | Sent to AI vision models for analysis |
| PDFs | Text extracted and used as context |
| Audio | Automatically transcribed and read as text |
| Documents | Text extracted from .docx files |
Uploads show a progress ring and appear as chips below the compose bar until ready.
Limitations
- AI can make mistakes — verify important information
- Not a replacement for professional advice (medical, legal, etc.)
- Response quality depends on your knowledge base content
